THIS IS MY JOY

AND MY GREAT REJOICING

An announcement

Perhaps it is best to begin with a story… Almost three months ago, in the midst of our journey to improve the way we listen and respond to the Spirit, I received a prompting.

It came clear as day…reach out to this group of Christian women and extend a hand of friendship.

For the record, it's out of my comfort zone to do something like that.  But because we were on this journey I responded to the prompting.  Remarkable things have happened since that moment.  Perhaps the greatest blessing is that I found a new friend.  Her name is Nish.  Our first conversations have led to a friendship that has become a great blessing in my life.

From our very first conversation we made a commitment to each other…we would look for and build upon what is common between us.

That commitment has led to some amazing discussions about what we believe, about how we live, and most importantly about Jesus Christ.

One afternoon we met at a little cafe in the Avenues of Salt Lake.  Nish, David, (Brother Butler), and I.  We talked about building bridges, extending the hand of friendship, creating a place where we could talk about what we have in common.

In that moment an idea for a blog was born.

A blog where people with like minded beliefs could gather together and multiply goodness.

Because each of us is a child of God.

Because we believe that living this commandment from the Lord is possible, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you."  (John 13:34)

Because we believe that there are causes for good that we can fight for together.

So, on July 1, 2014 we will launch a new blog…www.multiplygoodness.com.  (Don't worry…we will still be posting on this blog too.)

The blog will be home to 20 different writers…10 LDS Christian writers, and 10 writers who are Christians of other faiths.  It is our grass roots effort to start building bridges.  You are going to love the posts!  They will be simple and filled with goodness.  It is our hope that as you read each daily post you might think of someone you know who needs a little goodness in their life.  If you do, perhaps you could send that day's post to them…via email, twitter, instagram or even pintrest.  In that moment we will be multiplying goodness to as many people as we can reach together.

We are so excited about this idea!

The blog will feature daily posts, a book club that will begin in September, and a walk to be announced for next May.

Maybe, for the next couple of weeks you could be thinking about your friends with like minded beliefs. Perhaps they would like to join our new blog community.  This bridge we're building?  We want it to expand throughout the entire world.

So prepare to join us.

July 1, 2014.

Multiply Goodness.
