Beloved By All
I spent a lot of time this weekend thinking about how important friends are. It's because yesterday our door opened at 7:30am to the sound of friends. It was a revolving door all day long with different people coming in and out. The last one left at midnight.
We weren't hosting a party.
Mostly we were just doing Saturday jobs.
But as different people came and went my heart started filling to the brim with gratitude.
My kids have been blessed.
Somehow the friends who have come into their lives are the kinds of friends who lift and motivate. Who accept, and encourage, and stand firm.
They have influenced our home for good.
Today I read about Lehi and Moroni...
"Now behold, this Lehi was a man who had been with Moroni in the more part of all his battles; and he was a man like unto Moroni, and they rejoiced in each other's safety; yea, they were beloved by each other, and also beloved by all the people of Nephi." (Alma 53:2)
I love that they fought for what was right together.
I love that the more time they spent together the more they became like each other.
I love that the safety of the other was important to both of them...both physical safety, and spiritual safety.
I love that together they were beloved by all who knew them.
Do you have a friend like that?
If you don't, you should find one.
It's not what we have in our life, but who we have in our life that counts.
