In our home Monday nights are for gathering, for spending time with family, for learning more of the Lord.

Tonight we will talk about the ways our family has been blessed by the Lord this past year.  There is great importance in remembering.  It is within the remembering that hearts are made strong.

A verse in the reading describes another family who gathered together to recognize blessings and to teach.

"And Adam and Eve blessed the name of God, and they made all things known unto their sons and their daughters..." (Moses5:12, emphasis added)

I love the thought of this gathering.  I find myself wondering what it was that Adam and Eve taught their sons and their daughters.  From that verse in Moses a footnote reference found just next to the word known leads me to Deuteronomy 4...

"Only take heed to thyself..lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart...but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons.  Specially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord...when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together...that they may learn...and that they may teach their children.  And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire...and the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire...unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him."  (Deuteronomy 4:9, 10, 11, 12, 35)

Have there been special days in your life this year?  Moments when the Lord spoke softly to your soul...

How will you make sure you never forget that moment?

How will you capture it into your heart?

Could you write it down?  ...That moment when you knew the Lord was God, the moment that there was none else besides Him?

Could you teach it to your sons?  Your sons' sons?  Your daughter?  Your best friend?  Your mother?  Could you share it with someone whose heart needs lifting?  Could you gather together with those you love and bless the name of God and make all things known unto them?

Monday's are for gathering.

Tonight we will gather together...that we may learn...that we may teach our children.

We will bless His name.

We will make all things known to our sons and our daughters, specially the days this year when we came to know the Lord.

So we won't forget...so the memory of those moments will never depart from our hearts.
