Do a Good Deed
It was a little stormy in our neck of the woods this weekend.
Very, very white.
It was perfect weather for our challenge on Saturday.
Do a good deed.
Lots and lots of snow opens up the door for lots and lots of good deeds to be done.
I walked outside to run a quick errand and found a driveway that had been shoveled by a friend.
I pulled over behind a sea of red lights, expecting a pileup, but found an impromptu army of strangers pushing a sliding car up the hill.
At the grocery store I saw a man scraping the ice off of the cars around him before driving off.
I wish I would have waited to see the surprised delight of the owners.
What started as a nuisance turned into a bouquet of opportunities.
I learned to see the day with different eyes.
Eyes to recognize the good that these hands can do.
I am perfectly content for the snow to stay in its home in the mountains.
But if it decides to visit again, I will know what to look for.
