So Happy
One of my most favorite poems is written by a man named James Wright. I fell in love with it the moment I read the title:
TODAY I WAS SO HAPPY, SO I MADE THIS POEM
As the plump squirrel scampers Across the roof of the corncrib, The moon suddenly stands up in the darkness, And I see that it is impossible to die. Each moment of time is a mountain. An eagle rejoices in the oak trees of heaven, Crying This is what I wanted.
You just can't help but love the title and the very last line...
Today I was so happy...
this is what I wanted.
I love happy days. Those times when you make memories that are so good they become a mountain ––a monumental moment in your life. I am especially fond of the simple moments that leave you thinking that right there in that moment is exactly where you were meant to be...this is what I wanted.
We had a night like that last night.
As the deep fall night settled in crisp around us, with autumn in its finest moments of glory, I couldn't help but echo that phrase ...this is what I wanted.
A simple trip to the pumpkin patch.
It left me so happy.
In a season bursting with memories to be made I hope you find yourself surrounded by mountains and moments that leave you thinking this is what I wanted.
Today I was so happy...
