Something to Consider
We are nearing the end of the Book of Mormon. I love when Mormon speaks of the great things...the miracles...the mercies...
"And whoso receiveth this record...the same shall know of greater things than these." (Mormon 8:12)
"But behold, I will show unto you a God of miracles..." (Mormon 9:11)
"Behold, are not the things that God hath wrought marvelous in our eyes?
Yea, and who can comprehend the marvelous works of God?" (Mormon 9:16)
"Ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. Doubt not, but be believing, and begin as in times of old, and come unto the Lord with all your heart." (Mormon 9:27)
Sometimes I like to think about the greater things, the mighty miracles that God hath wrought.
The marvelous works.
I especially like to remember those things when I am in need of a miracle.
Sometimes, when we find ourselves wanting, it helps if we take a minute to pour out a prayer of gratitude. I did that today. I expressed thanks for the greater things, the blessings that fill my life. The more gratitude I expressed, the greater the inspiration from the Spirit I felt. I could feel it burning right inside my heart. And then, as I began to pray for what we stand in need of I noticed something interesting. I could feel the Spirit prompting me so that I would know exactly what to pray for.
The gratitude prepared my heart.
The Spirit knew exactly what we needed.
Now I have to doubt not and be believing with all my heart.
On days when I am especially in need of great things, I am grateful for the opportunity I have to look back at the greater things...the mighty miracles that have already taken place in my life.
And I am especially grateful for a Father who has promised to bless us forever. (Mormon 9:37)
